Hundreds of protesters surrounded State Security premises in Giza demanding the dissolution of the apparatus and the release of political prisoners.

Witnesses said hundreds of citizens gathered around the building and carried anti-torture signs. They chanted "people want to the State Security to fall".

State Security is a branch of the Ministry of Interior, highly associated with torture mechanisms against political prisoners.

In response, central security forces cordoned the buildings.

A security official reportedly addressed protesters to calm them down and ask them to leave.

حاصر مئات المواطنين مبنى أمن الدولة بمحافظة الجيزة مطالبين بحل الجهاز، وقال شهود عيان إن المتظاهرين تجمعوا حول المبنى وهتفوا بحل الجهاز والإفراج عن المعتقلين السياسيين الذين قالوا إنهم محتجزين داخل تلك المكاتب.

وفي شارع التحرير حاصر المئات مبنى أمن الدولة فرع الجيزة وهم يحملون لافتات كتبوا عليها شعارات تندد بـ«التعذيب» وتطالب بحل جهاز أمن الدولة، وهتف المحتجون:«الشعب يريد إسقاط أمن الدولة».

وقال شهود عيان إن قوات تابعة للأمن المركزي قامت بفرض كردون أمني حول المبنى وإن أحد القيادات الأمنية تحدث باستخدام ميكروفون للمتظاهرين محاولا تهدئتهم، وحين رفض المحتجون الانصراف، حسب الشهود، استدعت القيادات الأمنية القوات المسلحة، لتأمين المكان.
