<hr /> <h2>Help Menu</h2> <ul> <li><a href="../../page/index/1">Information about Open Egypt</a></li> <li><a href="../../page/index/2">Instructions on using the Crowdmap</a></li> <li><a href="../../page/index/3">Instructions on Submitting Reports</a></li> <li><a href="../../page/index/4">Volunteering: How to help Us</a></li> </ul> <hr /> <h2>Volunteering: How to Help Us</h2> <p>With a project of this scale, we need your help to make sure we deliver a up-to-date, credible and informative resource.</p> <p>There are a number of ways by which you can support us:</p> <h2>Media Monitoring, Sourcing Information and Submitting Reports</h2> <p>We rely on sources of useful and credible information to report and combine through the crowdmap, whether they are public lists of data like the Missing in Egypt spreadsheet, reliable contacts like the doctors who publish medical aid requests in Cairo through Facebook, official breaking news from news agencies, or even indirect updates gleaned from Twitter through hashtags like #Alexandria or #Tahrir that alert us to conditions on the ground.&nbsp;</p> <p>You can supply updates whether direct or indirect to us by the methods described in the <a href="../../page/index/3">Instructions on Submitting Reports</a> page.&nbsp; We then filter submissions as they come in for relevance and duplicates as part of the publishing process, and combine reports by location and category on the crowdmap.</p> <h2>Determining Credibility</h2> <p>The more credible a report is, the more useful the information in it becomes. You can help us determine credibility by checking reports against other news and information sources for verification or contradiction.</p> <p>You can vote on the credibility of each report using the voting tool, or alternatively email supporting information to <a href="mailto:openegypt25@gmail.com">openegypt25@gmail.com</a> with CREDIBILITY and the report title in the subject heading. This information will be added to the report.</p> <p>You can also add comments to each report within the crowdmap itself.</p> <h2>Translation</h2> <p>We are aiming to provide each report in a minimum or both Arabic and English - you can help us with supplying translations for published reports and supporting information.</p> <p>Translation into additional languages is also desirable, as this will increase the transparency of the information available.</p> <p>If you can help with translations, email <a href="mailto:openegypt25@gmail.com">openegypt25@gmail.com</a> with TRANSLATION in the subject heading.</p> <h2>Promotion</h2> <p>Be our voice!
